Social Media Policy
This document outlines my social media policy and how you can expect me to respond to various interactions that may occur between us on the internet.
Social Media Accounts
I have professional social media accounts on Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), and LinkedIn. The sole intention of these accounts is to inform potential clients about my psychotherapy and counselling practice and to direct interested parties towards my website or online professional profiles for more information.
Friending & Following
I do not accept friend or contact requests on any social networking site from former or current clients. This is to maintain the boundaries of the therapeutic relationship and to protect your privacy and confidentiality.
If you choose to follow me on social media, please be aware that this may be public and could therefore expose our professional relationship and compromise your privacy and confidentiality.
Please note that I do not follow any current or former clients.
Communication via social media
Please do not message me, either publicly or privately, via any of my social media accounts. I do not check these sites regularly and their messaging services are not secure.
Please do not contact me publicly (e.g. via wall postings, @replies, or #tagging) as this could compromise your confidentiality and I will be unable to respond to you.
If you need to contact me please do so via WhatsApp/SMS on 07765 300 800 or by emailing me at hello@angharadthomas.co.uk.
Online Searches
I do not use internet search engines or look at social media accounts, websites or blogs of former or current clients. This is to respect your privacy and maintain the boundaries of our therapeutic relationship.
If there are aspects of your online life you wish to share with me, please bring these to our session where we can explore them together.

Business Review Sites
You may find my practice listed on business review sites, which often include forums for users to rate providers and add reviews. Please note that these are NOT a request from me for testimonials, ratings, or endorsements. Soliciting reviews from clients is against my professional ethical code and constitutes a misuse of our professional relationship. As such no testimonials will be published on my website or social media channels, and I ask that you refrain from “liking” any of my pages or endorsing me on any business review site.
Whilst you are free to leave positive or negative reviews or express yourself on any site, please be aware that in doing so you may be revealing personally sensitive information on a public forum. Additionally, I may never see your comment and will not be able to respond to anything that you post. If you have feedback, the best way to share it is directly with me during our sessions, or to send it privately if our work together has concluded.
If you have a complaint or concern about my practice or the service you have received, please discuss this with me as a first step and I will attempt to address this constructively. If we are unable to come to a satisfactory conclusion then you can contact the BACP (www.bacp.co.uk) or UKCP (www.psychotherapy.org) who will further advise you.

Location-Based Services

I do not list my practice as a check-in location. However, if location-based services or GPS tracking are enabled on your mobile device, others may deduce that you are attending psychotherapy or counselling sessions with me.

Policy Updates

As new technology emerges and the internet and social media changes, there may be times where I need to update this policy. If I do so, I will notify you in writing of any policy changes, and offer you an emailed copy of the updated policy.

Questions and concerns

If you have questions or concerns about any aspect of this policy or our potential interactions on the internet, please feel free to ask. You can also review my full Privacy Policy for more detailed information on how your data is handled.

Agreement to Terms

The information set out above are the terms and conditions you agree to if you begin psychotherapy or counselling sessions with me.
